40th High School Reunion!

I just got back from my 40th High School Reunion in Omaha, NE. I performed there with my old Burke High pal Louis Metoyer who has lived on the opposite coast playing guitar in the pop music world for as long as I've been on the East Coast playing music in the jazz world. We had a blast playing music of mine together with three local Omaha musicians Steve Gomez-bass, Carlos Figueroa-drums, and Joey Gilizia-congas/percussion. –Mike Freeman
Jazz & Blues Showcase

ZonaVibe with Peter Brainin, Ian Stewart and Roberto Quintero, performed to a good turn out and welcoming crowd at the Jazz & Blues Showcase season finale last Friday evening. The program of mostly original music from "Blue Tjade", "The Vibesman", and "In The Zone" was supplemented by Latinjazz standards from Mario Bauzo, Mongo Santamaria, and Ray Bryant. This music was presented in a historical context with explanations of how it relates to and has influenced my original music. –Mike Freeman
